When I first scheduled a maternity session with this wonderful couple, I had no idea how the day would unfold. We were all set to capture the glowing mom-to-be, but life had other plans. Just as I was preparing for the shoot a day prior to our scheduled session, mom went into labor! Instead of a maternity session, I ended up painting their newly purchased house with the help of a few friends (they hadn’t even moved in yet!). It was a beautiful and spontaneous way to support them in those last moments before baby George arrived.
Fast forward a few weeks, and I was invited back to their new home in the charming Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City. Their newborn son George had already captured their hearts. It was time to document these precious early moments!
When I arrived at their home for the newborn session, only one room was fully finished and decorated, but we made it work beautifully! Despite the chaos of boxes and unpacked furniture in other rooms, we embraced the cozy, intimate feel of the space that was ready for their new arrival. The result? A stunning gallery of newborn portraits that truly captured the love and warmth of their new family. Sometimes, simplicity and authenticity make the most memorable moments! 🙂
If you’re looking for a personalized newborn photoshoot in Kansas City, I’d love to help capture the magic of your new beginnings. Just as I did for this beautiful, young family in Brookside!
